CPU Cooler for i7 10700K

Introduction

First of all, I had to notice that the parts on my workstation are very dusty, but that’s another topic. For now, let’s stick to the CPU cooler.

Ever since I moved 2 years ago I’ve noticed my computer is making a lot more noise than it used to and when checking inside it turned out dust was accumulating on some of the parts.

I assumed most of the noise was coming from my CPU cooler so I wanted to find a replacement. The current one is very loud and not doing its job very well, but I love how it looks with all those RGB lights!

Since I still can’t afford water cooling yet, I figured just getting a good heatsink would be a great upgrade. I also wanted to see if I could come up with something that would suit my needs and that I could print on my printer.

After doing some research, I found that Noctua is a pretty good company so I decided to follow their guidelines for which cooler would fit best:

There are types of coolers: Air-based and liquid-based coolersAir-based coolers are usually composed of the heat sink and fan attached together or sold separately. Liquid-cooled heat sinks contain a radiator, impeller, pump, and fan. Personally, I would rather use an air cooler because water cooling can be a little more complicated to set up and I don’t have the space for it.

They have a lower number of moving parts so they are easier to install. The noise levels are lower compared to liquid-cooled heat sinks. These types of coolers come in many shapes and sizes, so it’s important to check the dimensions of the fan and the dimensions of the heatsink. Fan sizes vary between 80mm or 120mm, but I don’t have space for larger fans or an additional 120mm fan on my case.

Types:

There are three common types of heatsinks: Tower, C-type (low), and L-type (low).

  1. The tower-style is the most popular out of the three because it is easier to install due to having more mounting holes. However, this type of cooler can be a little larger and the fan is located in a less effective location.
  2. The C-type has a low profile because it’s designed to be mounted horizontally. It’s also hard to install due to having fewer mounting holes, but the fan is in an optimal position so it doesn’t need to spin so fast for proper cooling.
  3. The L-type has another low profile but it is very hard to install because the mounting holes are located in an inconvenient place. However, this type of cooler provides optimal cooling area and fan position.

We have collected and enlisted the top best CPU Cooler for i7 10700k. Before going to the list let’s look at some shopping tips that we need to consider before buying the best CPU Cooler for i7 10700k.

Tips Before Purchasing

PC case:

Make sure the CPU cooler for i7 10700k can fit into your PC case. You also need to ensure that there is enough space in the airflow direction of the Cooler.

CPU support:

Check the socket type of your CPU to ensure that it supports the cooler you are looking at.

TD:P:

A high-quality heatsink can last a very long time even with intense usage.  If the manufacturer provides a warranty, check what it covers. Thermal Design Power (TDP) is the maximum amount of heat generated by your CPU. There are two kinds of TDP ratings: peak and continuous. Be sure the CPU cooler you are looking at supports the TDP of your CPU. You can find this information either on Intel or AMD product websites, or simply search for your CPU model and TDP.

Expensive vs. Budget:

The materials and build quality can affect the price of a cooler. Unless you have a good reason otherwise, it’s best to only look at high-performance heat sinks that are made from copper and aluminum.

Aesthetics:

You can choose the color of the LED on some CPU coolers, which may be important to you.

Now let’s get into our list of the best CPU Coolers for i7 10700k which are listed below.

Conclusion

Finally, we’ve compiled a list of the best cooling solutions for your smart PC. We’ve put a lot of effort into testing and comparing multiple coolers. After extensive research, we’ve identified some of the most suitable CPU coolers you’ll ever need to keep your system really chilly for gaming and other applications. When a 125W TDP processor is underclocked, cooling it is not as simple as it sounds. When overclocked, the heat output increases significantly, so you’ll need an excellent CPU cooler for i7 10700K.

You should opt for a liquid cooling system with a maintenance-free loop. If you don’t have a case with vents in the front or top specifically designed for radiators, we recommend getting an i7 10700K air cooler. Air coolers are more dependable, while liquid coolers transfer heat much more effectively. If you’re a serious overclocker and want to push your system’s frame rate higher, a three-fan radiator is a way to go. If performance is most important, noise shouldn’t be an issue. If reduced noise levels are crucial to your PC build, look for a CPU cooler with LNA that can help speed up under stressful conditions by greatly lowering ambient noise levels. We hope you discover one of our reviews suitable for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
